Volunteers
Although Dolphin Recreation Team is managed by a professional staff, we are heavily dependent on volunteers. The success of our programs and events are dependent upon individuals willing to volunteer their time to help make them happen. The common denominator of all Dolphin Recreation Team volunteers is the simple desire to give something back to the recreation that they love and all the benefits associated with that. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a few hours a month, we would love to have you involved.

COACHING
Coaches are essential to many forms of recreation. The Dolphin Recreation Team volunteer position of coach is intended to help guide our players in different forms of recreation through a series of drills, skill challenges, fun games, and a few contests. In the process, the coaches will be helping develop a healthy, positive attitude, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and provide a good role model for our players. Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a individual’s self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun.
Do you have little or no experience with coaching? No problem! Our events and programs are not designed for you to be a professional instructor. Our events are designed for coaches to become great mentors and help build character through running the events.

EVENT OFFICIALS
Serve as an Event Coordinator, Event Assistant, Rules Official, and/or many other important roles at each event. It is a great opportunity to gain valuable behind-the-scenes experience in all facets of recreation. The volunteers in these positions must have a general understanding of the Rules of the recreational activity, very strong communication and personal skills, strong organizational skills, a desire to work with parents and juniors, and a creative ability to work in a team environment.
GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
GENERAL VOLUNTEERS are also needed! We need more than coaches and event officials to make Dolphin Recreation team possible. We rely on volunteers — sometimes year-round — to accomplish our mission, and not all of those goals involve a direct recreational activity. Dolphin Recreation Team needs support in these area as well. These opportunities include:
- Fundraising/Special Events
- Operations/Administration
- Mentoring/Tutoring
- Program support/Development
