about
Mr. Ebert
Mr. Ebert grew up in a neighborhood in Flushing, Michigan that was filled with kids and played outside throughout the year. He was able to learn and play many sports like basketball, football, frisbee golf, and tennis, among others. Mr. Ebert was blessed to be a member at a local country club. There he started out both in swimming and golfing when he was six. He was more involved in swimming as part of the swim team early on. He mainly played golf on weekends with his family but did not play in organized golf until he was probably 9 or 10. He played in Junior Golf at the Country Club and also with Flint Junior Golf. He loved being outside with the scenery, the friendships and laughter that the game of golf brings. He truly fell in love with golf and began practicing all the time. He would read books and look at different skill development lessons and would take those lessons to the course. Being able to learn the game of golf was a true blessing in his life! He tried out for his high school golf team when he was only in 8th grade and would have made the varsity team but found out that he needed to be in high school. So, he continued to work at his game, build friendships at the country club with other juniors as well as young adults. He developed a love for playing in friendly competitions and learning to play different games.
When he was a teenager, every day during the summer he would compete on the range, on the putting green, and on the course. Competing with other kids; himself and adults motivated him. He learned to set goals, focus, train, and play hard. He had to learn to discipline his mind and overcome frustration and setbacks and keep going. But most importantly, he learned that we all continue to struggle at golf to improve, but the main focus is that we were having fun. These experiences taught him a lot about the joy of striving to improve and what it takes to succeed in life.

After years of working in Corporate America, Mr. Ebert began his journey working with his church as a nursery provider. He has been a Sunday School teacher for over 10 years, working with his wife. He has also taught Pioneer Club for three years and has been the Men’s and Women’s Church Softball Team Coach. Mr. Ebert also runs the concession stand and is the Commissioner of the Church Softball League. Sports have always been a pivotal part of his life and extremely influential in teaching him life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance, while also giving something physically constructive to do.
As a former High School golfer, 3-time captain and first person from his high school to make all state in golf, he truly understands the importance of playing competitive golf to improve your game and take it to the next level. Giving kids and adults access to that same kind of opportunity and learning experiences is his dream for Dolphin Recreation Team. Brian has always wanted to help families and children. Now, through Dolphin Recreation Team he is given that chance to make a difference in the lives of many families.

Meaning of Dolphins
Considered the “king of fish” by many ancient cultures, dolphin meaning is closely associated with kingly qualities. Not the dominating kind. Observe the dolphin for any length of time and you know if dolphins ruled the world, they would be gracious in their reign. And that is the core theme to dolphin meanings. Grace.
A quick list of symbolic dolphin meanings includes:

- Playfulness
- Gentleness
- Harmony
- Intelligence
- Contentment
- Community
- Resurrection
- Generosity
- Power
- Friendship & Loyalty
What is true is countless tales of dolphins interacting with humans in friendly, even protective ways. This colors the dolphin meaning in hues of compassion, caring, community and generous spirit in reaching out to connect with another species.
The dolphin is a symbol for salvation, transformation, and love. There’s a saying in our culture that suggests “it takes a village to raise a child”. In earlier times, our society often reflected this concept. Today, however, morals and values are almost nonexistent, and technology continues to contribute to the breakdown of our families, communities, and our society as a whole. Dolphins, however, are cooperative and playful. Their inner societies or pods existent under extremely dangerous conditions only because of the closeness and support the members offer to one another. In the world of the dolphin, members care for and protect each other. Dolphins are creatures of socialization just as we are.
As human beings, maybe it’s time that we take a look back at how we have evolved and consider instead returning to the way of the dolphin. Rather than spreading farther and farther from each other, the answer to our problems is perhaps instead, to come closer. The pod concept that protects dolphins could very well be the ideal that could protect our families and our communities.
